Energy can be found everywhere, in every object. Kinetic and Potential energy are both different types of energies. Kinetic energy is energy of motion, it is present when an object is moving. Potential or Gravitational energy is energy due to gravity and the potential of movement. An example is if you were to hold a ball off the ground and are about to drop it, it has Gravitational/Potential energy, but once you drop it, it will have Kinetic energy.
